SYNOPSIS
In 1524, a peasant revolt in southern Germany ignited over a countess’s arbitrary demands and grew into a mass uprising. United under the Twelve Articles—hailed as a forerunner of the Declaration of the Rights of Man—the Peasants’ War spread across the Holy Roman Empire, leaving a legacy still debated between national myth and the birth of modern social revolutions.
